Marcia is a Licensed Acupuncturist with a Masters degree in Oriental Medicine, which means that in addition to acupuncture, she will sometimes prescribe custom herbal formulas which complement and strengthen the acupuncture treatment. These herbal formulas can be used for common and complex problems and are powerful and effective options for people who are looking for safe and natural alternatives to drugs or for those that cannot tolerate the side effects of drugs.

Marcia became interested in Chinese medical theory when, as a designer, she began incorporating elements of feng shui into her home design. She realized that when the energy of a space flows well and is conducive to the task of that space, it is also a much more enjoyable room to be in. As her interest in physical space evolved to include the healing influence of energy in the body, her journey into Chinese medicine began.

Marcia says, "I’ve always felt that being heard, being listened to is extremely healing for people. It is very soothing to me personally to just be with people and to listen to them. Add to that a really effective, tried and true system of medicine that treats the whole person. Finally, I love a good puzzle. That is how I practice. We work together, bringing my healing medicine and your concern and vision for your health.”

Marcia brings experience in many areas including women’s health, acute and chronic pain, digestive concerns and more. She has undergone specialized training in pain and rehabilitation at the Courage Center and in using acupuncture to enhance outcomes and quality of life during cancer treatment through the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Marcia is happy to do a free 15-minute consultation by phone or in person. “If you’ve never had acupuncture, it’s probably not what you think! It is calming, it doesn’t hurt and people often fall asleep during a session and I encourage that! If you have any questions, please feel free to call and ask.”

Marcia serves on the Board of the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Association of Minnesota, as President in 2012. She lives in Prior Lake with her husband. They have five grown children, two of whom live here, two in Hawaii and one in New Zealand, all with their families including grandchildren in all three places. Whenever possible, their holidays are spent traveling.
