Susan Parks, MS, RD, CSSD, LN, CPT - Licensed Nutritionist

Contact Susan via email.

Susan has been in the field of nutrition and wellness for over 30 years.  With her wealth of experience she has developed a weight management and nutrition counseling approach that encompasses the client's body and mind, uses the latest technology, and is entirely individualized.  She has worked with many big names in the industry, she speaks nationally on a wide range of nutrition-related topics, and is passionate about helping people achieve their optimal health and weight.

Part of what makes Susan's approach to weight management and nutrition so comprehensive and effective is her ability to analyze each client's metabolic needs.  For metabolic testing, she uses New Leaf which is state of the art equipment that analyzes a persons's resting metabolic rate and their anaerobic threshold.  This allows Sue to develop individualized nutrition and exercise plans for her clients.  Sue's approach to weight management is entirely individualized.  Susan says, "One diet does not fit all, and I will guide you through a plan that is designed to work for your specific needs."

As a Registered Dietitian and a Licensed Nutritionist, Susan has experience counseling clients with specific needs. Her areas of expertise include: weight management, clinical, pediatric/maternal, food sensitivities/allergies, nutrition for wound healing and anti-inflammation, and lifestyle change.  Sue says, "My goal as a nutrition professional is to make it a reality for all.  My approach is a total mind-body approach, encompassing emotions, metabolism, and biochemistry."  Since 1975 Susan has been developing weight management systems including Diet Plus Exercise for Northwest Racquet Clubs, New Life Weight Management, HealthEast Med Home, and Balanced Choices.

Susan is also a Certified Personal Trainer with the the American Council on Exercise.  She has trained several running groups and Olympic eligible athletes.  She has worked in various health clubs including Northwest, Lifetime Fitness, and the Jewish Community Center of St. Paul.

Susan was born in New York City and raised in New Jersey.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, and then received her Masters of Science from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  Her M.S. was in Nutrition, with an emphasis on maternal and infant/child nutrition. She has the following certifications: Certified Personal Trainer from the American Council on Exercise; Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics from the American Dietetics Association.  She has also owned her own counseling company, HealtheNutrifit, since 2000, and is excited to have her services available at Green Lotus.
