Trisha Haberman - Yoga TeacherContact Trisha at thaberman@greenlotusyogactr.com Trisha started practicing yoga about four years ago strictly, she says, for the physical health benefits and to help reduce the many stresses of daily life. After attending her first class, she knew in her mind, heart, and soul that yoga was an activity she wished to explore further. After a short time, Trisha recognized the physical changes in my body – more strength and flexibility. "I was more flexible." Along with the physical changes, she experienced her emotional and spiritual self changing as well. “My outlook on life was changing,” Trisha says. “I was happier. There was more to yoga than stretching my muscles and holding poses. I discovered greater, much larger transformations going on inside me. These realizations lead me to pursue my teaching certification.” She soon enrolled in the 200 RYT program at Green Lotus, completed it in 2008, and joined the teaching staff. Trisha is married to a “wonderful man,” and the couple has “two adorable, loving, and busy boys.” Away from home she works with troubled youth at the Department of Corrections where she meets many young children struggling with their own demons and self-destructive behavior. Trisha finds it extremely challenging to keep these experiences from adversely affecting her personal and spiritual life. “During my journeys I’ve often felt I needed something to help me balance my personal, professional, and spiritual well-being,” Trisha says. “As I continue to deepen my personal practice and sharpen my teaching skills, I am reminded daily just why I return to the mat: inner peace, self-discovery and exploration.” |
