Catherine has been working in the mental health field since 2007. Her professional journey began in Hawaii where she worked with a wide diversity of at-risk teenagers and their families in a non-profit organization. As her experience grew so did her passion for helping others heal.

Catherine received her bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Hawaii Pacific University in 2007 and her master of arts degree in clinical psychology from Argosy University in 2015. She is a licensed professional clinical counselor and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor. Catherine has specialized in working with children, teenagers, and their families for the past ten years using principles of applied behavioral analysis. With this expertise she is able to help teach parents how to reduce challenging and disruptive behavior in their children and teenagers. Catherine also has experience working with adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, shame and guilt, and substance-abuse issues.

Catherine gained a deeper understanding of holistic and spiritual healing through her yoga practice. She is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher and is registered through Yoga Alliance. She currently teaches at Green Lotus Yoga & Healing Center in Lakeville. Catherine uses an integrative approach to mental health with her experience and training in psychotherapy and yoga to help individuals increase self-awareness through introspection and reflection. In addition to its calming benefits, there is a sea of research that now supports the use of yoga to treat trauma. Emotions and other experiences from trauma are stored in the body. They can become stuck and can be released through body work, including yoga.

Catherine utilizes different modalities based on the individual needs of each person including mindfulness, yoga, cognitive behavioral therapy, existential therapy, behavior therapy, and solution-focused strategies. She believes in building strong relationships with her clients to help them create a grounded foundation from which they can heal and grow. “With grounded roots we can reach towards our truest potential,” she says. Catherine creates an understanding, non-judgmental environment with the goal of helping her clients find their strength to heal and live a life with intention and purpose.
