Pilates Reformer Instruction

Traditional Pilates has you working out on a mat, using your body weight as resistance in a series of moves and stretches. The Pilates reformer machine adds resistance to the workout through springs and pulleys. The Pilates reformer increases flexibility, strength, balance, range of motion, and core power by strengthening the muscles of the abdomen. In addition to having great-looking abdominal muscles, a stronger core can help to ease back pain from which you may suffer. The machine offers guidance to your body to extend to its fullest capability, something your body might not do by itself in mat Pilates or other exercise forms. Your arms and legs work out more thoroughly, which means you’ll get faster results. When using the machine, movements are slow and controlled, and there’s little impact on your joints. In a study published in 2015, it was found that women who did one-hour Pilates reformer practices two times a week over a 16-week period lost fat from their triceps, waists, and thighs. More than that, the women gained lean mass through their dedication and commitment. For targeted results, see Christine in Mendota Heights for one-on-one Pilates reformer instruction.
