This month, meet Angi Jara. She is a Reiki Master, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Past-Life Regression and Soul-Empowering Hypnosis Facilitator, Intuitive Soul Reader, End-of-Life Doula, and Artist. In this article, she centers her philosophy and methodology for connecting with your Higher Self.

Mother Teresa, one of the great humanitarians of our time, showed the world how to love through her presence, acts of charity, and encouraging words of wisdom. Her inspirational life of love reminds us all that the small things we do in love today, no matter how big or small, have a powerful impact, will change tomorrow, and can ignite joy within our souls. As a healer, I have been profoundly touched and inspired by her life of service to others and by the profound courage, resilience, compassion, and vulnerability of those I meet working in the field of healing. I see the light of God radiating in every Soul that is seeking and practicing the art of peace in their life. We are all healers in the way we interact with our fellow human beings, our gestures of kindness, our desire to embody the essence of love, and to share peace by simply "just being."
We are also all united as beings of love. We walk this earth guided by our Soul, a divine being aligned with the highest vibration, love, always present and eternal. Life presents us with challenges, heartbreak, grief, and loss, but among these trials we can find simple joys that carry our Soul forward. The vibrancy of love is always supporting us, healing us, and guiding us on our path.
As a Healer and an Empath, I have found that allowing oneself compassion, silence, and grace heals both the physical body and the spiritual being. Making time for self-care should never be the last item on our list. Cultivating a deep connection to the wisdom of our Souls is the most important relationship we will experience as humans.
Connecting with your Soul requires nothing more than a few minutes of your day. I am honored to share these gentle daily practices with you.
7 Daily Practices to Connect with Your Highest Self/Soul:
1. Take a moment of silence each day. Place your hand on your heart and focus on your breathing, which should be deep and regular. In this silent space, envision your heart opening and expanding. In this gentle expansion, visualize a golden light glowing within your heart center, expanding the light bigger and brighter with every breath you take. Allow yourself to really feel this connection, breathing in the energy of everything that is, as it gently relaxes your body. Allow the light of the Universe to radiate through your entire being, connecting you to your light within. You may choose to just be present in this peaceful space, experience deep gratitude, or share love with yourself or others. You may ask your Highest Self/Soul, God, the Universe, Source, your Spirit Guides, or Angels to share love, healing, or words of wisdom with you. Listen quietly – your Soul holds divine wisdom to the answers you seek.
2. Invite your Highest Self/Soul to take a walk with you in nature. Walking with your Soul’s divinity allows you to release fears, anxiety, and negativity with each step. Ask the breeze or the sun to clear your energy. Thank the grass for its wonderful ability to ground you to the heart of the Earth. Send gratitude to your legs for their strength. Notice the brilliant colors of nature. Shine your glorious light back into the sun. Ask the trees to offer you wisdom and peace. Thank nature for sharing its healing energy with you.
3. Smile more often. Smile for the joy of your Soul, to ease your day, and to invite in the energy of positivity. Smiling is clinically proven to reduce stress and anxiety. Magical, right? Smiling helps reduce stress-induced hormones in the bloodstream, which helps prevent adrenal fatigue. Smiling enhances positive emotions. A genuine smile offered to a stranger is a true act of kindness as you acknowledge them as your fellow human being and share the love of your Soul. This simple act of kindness can add happiness to anyone’s day.
4. Say a prayer. A simple prayer from your Soul is the perfect way to connect with Spirit and share love with yourself or others. Let the prayer come naturally from your heart. It can be as simple as the words “I AM HERE, I AM PRESENT, I AM LOVE.”
5. Let it Be. These three simple words of divine wisdom begin the spiritual process of flowing with the current of life. Allow yourself quiet space to contemplate your challenges. Ask yourself “What problems can I leave behind so that I may move forward with grace and peace in my life?”
6. Practice Compassion. Remembering the challenges of others lessens your own burdens. Serving others by sharing your love fills the Soul with immense joy and peace. Choose an act of service that speaks to your heart, whether it be volunteering at an animal shelter, nursing home, food shelf, or anything within your community. Everyone benefits.
7. Create. One of my favorite pastimes is creating Soul Art. Let your Soul choose the medium: painting, jewelry, woodworking, gardening, journaling, writing poetry, and music are all forms of art. Remember that you are a Divine Creator. Art exploration has tremendous mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual benefits. It allows us the sacred space to explore our emotions in meaningful ways that nourish our overall health and wellbeing. You are the color, the form, the words, the texture, the song.
These gentle, simple practices have guided me on my spiritual path and have had a profound impact in my day-to-day life. Angi became a certified clinical hypnotherapist from the National Association of Transpersonal Hypnotherapists (NATH). She specializes in Clinical Hypnosis, Past-Life Regression, and Soul Empowering Hypnosis (SEH). Angi received her Thanatology certification through The Art of Dying Institute and is honored to share sacred space for all who are transitioning, caretakers in the dying process, and those who have experienced the death of a loved one.
